On a busy Sunday night Red Robin is quick to serve. As customers arrive, the staff exuberantly waits to serve and please. Parking spots fill quickly and the staff finishes wiping down the tables just as guests walk in the door.
With people of all ages coming, booths fill quickly and children spend their money on arcade games provided. As patrons are seated, they are given menus with an assortment of foods and drinks.
With 222 Red Robins open today, the restraunt has been a landmark across the country since 1969. There are 200 franchises in the U.S. and 22 in Canada.
“Red Robin is a great place for the family,” Andrew King, ’06, said. ” I think it is a fun place to enjoy a meal.”
The well-lit environment features walls crammed with pictures of movie stars and Disney characters.
With the lively atmosphere, colorful decorations and a wide variety of food, many feel it is a great place to eat.
“I like Red Robin’s lights and pretty colors,” Kelly Gong, ’08, said. “The booth is cushiony and the waiters and waitresses are nice.”
Different styles of music fill the background as people gaze and stare at the friendly appearance of Red Robin and its TV’s playing around the restaurant.
As the food is brought out the guests focus their attention on the meal at hand. Red Robin is most famously known for its burgers, which range in price from $6 to $8.50. The Royal Red Robin burger is one of the newest burger variations on the menu and is made with egg.
“I got the fish and chips when I visited,” Gong said. “The food looked and tasted good. It was hard to choose what to get because there is a wide variety.”
Once the guests get ahold of their food and take their first bites the noise level quickly lowers.
“I had one of their burgers there,” King said. “It was good and spicy.”
The ever so popular Red Robin mascot greets guests and attracts shoppers to the restaurant.
“I like his blue vest and his big shoes,” Gong said. ” It gives him his personality, and he brings a smile to my face.”
Some kids fear this bird, but others love the mascot and the attention it brings.
“The bird is cool looking,” King said. “I think the bird brings potential to the restaurant. ”
As the meal is finished, the check arrives. Many are surprised at the restaurant’s pricing. All burgers include fries; drinks are an additional $2.19.
