For FC’s first worship chapel on Tuesday, many alumni went to visit the school to worship and talk with the teachers, Aug. 21. Along with some of the alumni visiting chapel, a group of graduates including Rachel Wilhelm, ’11, left to right, Sarah Barnett, ’10, Josh Hopper, ’12, and others, got together to form a worship band.
The band sang many songs, including “Hosanna” and “The Stand”. Wilhelm later spoke to the school about her life changing experience in Russia.
“This was my second time coming to the alumni chapel, but my first time helping lead the worship team. I loved doing it. It was a great to share my story with them {students} because it showed them that even though you may go through hard times in and outside of high school you can still make it through,” Wilhelm said. “I really hope they heard the word of God through what we did. The one thing I miss most about FC is the worship chapels because they are just so moving and effective and I hope the students will love them as much as I did.”
After chapel the freshmen and seniors were asked to stay to talk about the new buddy program at FC. The next chapel will be on Thursday, which this year’s new worship team will also perform for the first time.
