Sophomore Lindsey Biehler, left, is helped by Athletic Secretary Michelle Regnerus, to get her locker open, Sept. 11.
For about 30 minutes, Regnerus worked on the locker, so Biehler could have her lunch, which was in the locker.
“I worked on the locker for about 30 minutes and was being very careful so that I would not break the locker. I finally had to call Val and he and I got the locker open. He knows the lockers better than I do and knew how much it could take,” Regnerus said. “We used the ‘tool kit’ that former secretary Yoko Kilbourne left to me when she retired. She did not have too much stuff in her locker like so many kids do. It was very tidy and neat and had only a few books and her lunch.”
After the locker was opened, during lunch, Biehler was allowed to eat her lunch in seventh period choir. Throughout the school year, many students jam their lockers with items and later need help opening their lockers with the help of Regnerus or other high school support staff.
