Northside Christian Church hosts new coffee shop

Located on the corner of Willow and Nees lies a new coffee shop. The Frappe House recently opened and is a new addition to the Northside Christian Church campus.

The Frappe House is a non profitable shop that gives 100% of their profits away to charities that are doing good in the community. They have partnered with, Two Cities Coffee Roasters, a family run business that guarantees freshly roasted coffee.

The shop was seen as a way to reach out to everyone. Manager Jenna Palomino feels that it is a great place for anyone looking for some quiet time.

“The idea of a coffee shop came from another church who also had a shop,” Palomino said. “We saw it was a great tool to reach the unchurched. The Frappe House is a non-threatening place where people can learn about God, without having to step foot inside the Worship Center. It’s also a great place for anyone that needs some quiet time to study, meet or hang out.”

The Frappe House offers a variety of different drinks and snacks. All of the profits go directly to local charities.

“We have many options for coffee drinkers, tea drinkers and even kids,” Palomino said. “We offer free black coffee every day, and serve handcrafted treats including gluten free treats for a little pick me up to go along with that coffee, frappe, latte, pour over, or tea. What sets the Frappe House apart is that any proceeds we make goes directly to a local non-profit each quarter. We strive to, “Do Good Today,” by helping those in need with a purchase of a cup of coffee or any beverage.

Tyler Vanderlinden, ’17, attends Northside and feels that the Frappe House is a great place for people to hang out. He prefers their coffee over any other place.

“I think that the coffee house is a cool place in the community for people to get coffee,” Vanderlinden said. “It’s very nice and brand new. I would prefer to get my coffee from this place to support my church. I also think that the coffee tastes just as good if not better than any other place.”
