During homecoming week, the king and queen pageant appear to be the prized event to the student body. In past years queens and king have danced, sat on eggs, ate poor food combinations and formed ice sculptors.
The queen candidates are Tara Albrechtson, Andrea Munoz, Erin Elmore, Julianne Erkenbrecher, and Suzie Falk. The queen candidates will participate in trout slapping, and a mystery obstacle course with the king candidates on Oct. 13. A make over is also planned.
?I am looking forward to the trout slapping so I can hit the kings,? Andrea Munoz, ?06, said. ?I am not looking forward to the make over because the kings will be doing the make over on me.?
The king candidates are seniors Brandon Cain, Jordan Hogue, Spenser Koleen, Daniel Kessler and Gary Darakjian. They will dance as a tradition along with showing childhood videos, a fashion show, and pick up lines on Oct. 14.
?The activities that we are going to do are fun,? Cain said, ?because I get to compete and do them against my friends.?
Students believe the queen and king pageant, is an entertaining way get to known the king and queen candidates to help finalize their decision on voting day.
?The king and queen pageant is entertaining,? Eliza Leisle, ?07, said. ?I like to watch the kings and queens make a fools of themselves.
