Sadies 2006 primed for jungle fever

The trek to the jungle is only days away as the girls on campus are poised to take control of a night on the town. With tickets on sale only through March 30, many females have already penciled in their date for Sadies.

“I’m excited to conquer my biggest fear. My date and I hope to take our Sadies picture with a 40 pound snake,” junior Ashley Davis said.

Campus leadership organized Sadie Hawkins 2006 Jungle Fever for April 1. They are touting it as this year’s version of “girls night in control” that includes a scavenger hunt at the Chaffee Zoo and skating at Fresno’s CalSkate.

With prizes including gift certificates as additional incentives, the ladies will lead their dates hunting for clues on a hunt through a maze animals and foilage before photos and food slow the couples down.

Busses will transport the students throughout the evening so students can hang out with friends and keep the group together. The students will meet in the Ground Zero parking lot at 5:30 P.M. and spend from 6-10 P.M. hanging out at the zoo. Photos will be with a macaw and students may have opportunities to talk to animals including the llamas.

After the zoo experience, rollerskating and video games are close by at CalSkate Fresno. Here couples will eat, skate and hang out from 10 P.M. to closing, arriving back on campus around midnight.

“Sadies is gonna be sweet,” senior Matt Karahadian said. “When I get my blades on I plan to do mad tricks and my signature 540 degrees mctwist while holding Kim (Bimat) up in the air. We’ve been practicing for weeks.”

Tickets are on sale for $60 per couple and are available in the Ground Zero quad or in the student leadership room. For more information, contact adviser Josh Tosland at [email protected].
