As the second semester continues, recently finished student-produced spoofs of popular films premiered during Night of the Stars (NOTS), April 6 at Wolf Lakes. NOTS is an annual tradition celebrated at Fresno Christian’s formal since the 1990-91 school year.

During this week, the 2018 NOTS movies are being published on The Feather Online. This year the freshmen remade ‘Nacho Libre’; sophomores; ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’; juniors, ‘McFarland’; and seniors ‘Senior Trap’, a spin-off of ‘Parent Trap.’ The movies will be shown at #FCNOTS, April 6.

After re-creating ‘Back to the Future’ the class of 2020 decided to continue with another 80’s classic, ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.’ The sophomores create the 2018 NOTS movie using classmates to take the place of characters.

Lead characters included: Ethan Hamm as Ferris Bueller, Logan Lewis as Cameron Frye, Shauna Howard as Jeanie Bueller and Claire Palsgaard as Sloane Peterson.

Ethan Hamm, ‘20, enjoyed the process of creating the class movie. He also starred in last years film at Marty McFly however noticed some differences.

“I loved the movie so reenacting it was really fun,” Hamm said. “I have seen the movie many times so it was fun to actually put it into play. I have been in a few plays when I was little, I am currently in drama and I was in the movie last year. This year was more fun making the movie, however, I thought it was more work. I really loved filming the action scenes like the pool and running scenes.

“This year the movie awards went a lot quicker than last year and there were no speeches when an award was won,” Hamm continued. “Despite the differences I was very happy with the outcome of the night with our class winning 6 of the 12 awards.”

Script writer, co-director and actress, Shauna Howard, ‘20, enjoyed being involved in the making of the movie.

“I had many rolls on the movie making team,” Howard said. “I wrote the script, helped with directing and acted as Jeanie. My favorite part of the process was seeing it all come together in the end.

“Last year I wrote the script for our NOTS movie and acted in it at well,” Howard continued. “Next year, I hope that we can get even more people involved and excited about the movie next year.”
