Homecoming-Lilo and Stitch

[/media-credit] John Monke and Ashley Zamarripa dress up as Lilo and Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

Fresno Christian’s senior homecoming court nominees choose a Disney movie to market during  FC homecoming, Oct. 5. Candidates John Monke and Ashley Zamarripa chose Lilo and Stitch.

This week’s chosen movies include, ‘Star Wars‘, ‘Lilo and Stitch‘, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame‘, ‘Hercules‘, and ‘Tangled‘.  FC leadership voted on the Disney theme called ‘Homecoming Happily Ever After‘.

The theme will be carried out as classes work on floats from various Disney movies. Floats will be showcased and open for voting at the 34th annual FC homecoming, Oct. 5.

Zamarripa and Monke participate in ‘Homecoming Happily Ever After’ by dressing up as Lilo and Stitch. Lilo and Stitch is about Lilo adopting Stitch as her dog, even though he is just a genetic experiment. With Lilo’s strong belief of ohana(Hawaiian for family), she helps Stitch unlock his heart and was able to care for someone else.

Motivation for Monke and Zamarripa to choose Lilo and Stitch for their movie, was based on their physical attributes.

“John and I picked Lilo and Stitch because we wanted to pick something where the costumes weren’t hard to get and we wanted something that favored our height.” -Ashley Zamarripa
