Art students learn different texture techniques

[/media-credit] Brooklynn Anderson works on her Art 1 project of face shading, Oct. 26.

Art teacher Vicky Belmont’s Art I students sketch faces and shapes to learn different techniques of pencil shading, Oct. 26. This goes along with the new unit of shading and texturing they are learning.

Art I student Brooklynn Anderson, ’22, shares her most enjoyable part about art.

“The best part about art so far is being challenged and pushed outside of my comfort zone by trying new techniques. My favorite type of art is watercolor. I love it’s ability to make things look soft like water.”

Other than specific unit of art to learn, students also pencil draw in art notebooks given to them in the beginning of the year. Once a week a new assignment to draw is given to students to sketch for homework.

Next week, students will start the new unit of contour drawing.
