[/media-credit] Sophomore Brayden Iest prepares for finals with stacks of books to study, Dec. 11.

Students bury their heads in books and study guides as finals week approaches before Christmas break, Dec. 11.

Teachers rap up units, chapters, and curriculum taught over the past four months of school and prepare their classes for the last test of the year.

Final tests vary from each class. Spanish I students split into groups to create videos for their final project, Spanish II make a live broadcast video about sports and Spanish III design travel brochures written in Spanish. While some high schoolers face exams that cummulate the whole semester of work such as chemistry, math and civics.

Another type of final students see are essays. English teacher Andrea Donaghe requires her AP language students to anaylize written pieces to write an essay on. Her senior classes also write essays. English 10 students present their nursery ryhme thinking maps along with analyzing the movie The Lorax essay for the final.

Junior and senior leadership and worship students write a 6-8 page essay on one of Paul’s letter in the Bible. Simliar to the Bible assignment for leadership and woship students, Christian Living also write an essay, but on an event or person between the crusifixion up to the Reformation. They also create a presentation on the topic chosen for their essay. While presenting, they are required to dress profesionally for the class.

With only three days left until Christmas break, finals finish out the last week of school along with Christmas parties and a ‘Stuffed Animal Drive’ for Valley Children’s Hospital, Dec. 14.
