Punxsutawney Phil predicts early spring

Punxsutawney+Phil+predicts+early+spring
[/media-credit] Spring is officially in the air as Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring Saturday morning, Feb. 2.

In Punxsutawney Pennsylvania the world’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, had the attention of people all around the world, awaiting the Groundhog Day 2019 result, Feb. 2. After not being able to locate his shadow, Phil predicts an early spring.

The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle is the group that organizes this event and cares for Phil. Early Saturday  morning, the group brought Phil out of his den where he was greeted by a crowd of people.

Out of 123 recorded times Phil has searched for his shadow, with the exception of ten unrecorded years, this is only the nineteenth time in history he has not been able to find it, according to York Daily Record.

After the polar vortex hit parts of the country this last week, many find it difficult to believe that spring may be around the corner.

According to NewJersey.com, around the world, other groundhogs awaited glimpses of their shadow in New York and various spots in New Jersey. Staten Island Chuck sought his shadow at the Staten Island Zoo, while Milltown Mel, Essex Ed and Stonewall Jackson V searched at various zoos in NJ.

Are you pleased with the results of an early spring? Share your thoughts with us in the comments down below!
