As the class of 2019 looks forward to graduation, The Feather spotlights seniors in an effort to know them better. This series will focus on their time at Fresno Christian and their aspirations moving forward. This is the 2019 senior spotlight of Alina Ochoa.

How many years have you attended FCS?

I have been at FCS since sixth grade.

Where/how many colleges have you applied to for next year?

I am going to Clovis Community my first two years of college and then transfer to Fresno State.

Are you planning on going out of state or staying in CA?

I plan on staying in town for college and stay at home during my college years.

A favorite memory of high school?

My favorite memory of high school was when we went to Senior Retreat and were able to spend time with people I don’t normally spend time with. I liked when we were around camp fire sharing past stories with each other. I felt like it brought our class closer together.

What activities have you been involved in over the past 4 years?

I have been involved these past four years in music. I was in choir my freshman year and then advanced to being part of the ensemble group these past years.

Is there anything you wished you would have done differently?

I wish I was on time more and tried my best not to worry so much about what others thought. I wish I was able to do what I loved and be myself and prioritized better with my classes.

If you could give the lower classmen advice for surviving high school, what would it be?

If I could give advice for lower classmen I would tell them to find good friends and learn to love themselves. I would also say to try your best to achieve good grades but to remember that’s not everything to school.

Post graduation, what do you look forward to in your future?

After high school I look forward to college and taking classes about subjects I’m interested in. I will also be able to focus on more things I’m passionate about, learning to handle adult life and what’s it like in the real world.

A fun fact about Ochoa is she works at Holiday Retirement Home. Check out her highlight on The Feather at Alina Ochoa serves at Holiday Retirement to learn more about what her role is as a server.
