Choir Cal Poly Festival 2019

[/media-credit] High school choir performs ‘Daniel’ in front of judges and other choirs at the Cal Poly Festival, March 22.

Junior high and high school choir attend the Cal Poly Festival to gain constructive feedback from judges, March 22.

Music teacher Susan Ainley directs the choirs in front of an audience consisting of parents, JH choirs, elementary choirs and jugdes. The FC high school cantiamo choir was the only 9th-12th grade choir at the festival. This year FC elementary choir did not attend the event.

The group left in two charter busses from school at 6:30 a.m., making one stop along the way at Kettleman city. From there, they arrived at Cal Poly to listen to multiple choirs and perform their own music pieces.

The festival ended around noon and they went to Cayucos Beach until 4:30 p.m. following the performance, before returing back to school. Their arrival time back to FC was 8 p.m.

Cantiamo performed the music they will sing at the Worldstrides Heritage Festival April 5-7. The pieces were ‘Daniel’, their Latin piece ‘Adoramuste’ and one in Spanish, ‘Esto Les Digo’. The rest of the music program, consisting of band and junior high choir, will attend the festival held at Disneyland as well.
