Q & A: Class of 2020 lifers

The class of 2020 celebrates the new school year with group pictures, Aug. 14.

Get to know your class of 2020 “lifers”! A “lifer” is a student who has consecutively attended Fresno Christian from kindergarten to 12th grade. Out of 57 seniors, nine of the students have attended school together for the past 13 years. These seniors share their memories and experiences at FCS below.

Who was your kindergarten teacher?

My kindergarten teacher was Amy Witters.

What is your favorite thing about Fresno Christian?

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is the friends I have made.

What extracurriculars have you been involved in during high school?

I have been involved in basketball and golf.

Describe your high school experience in three words.

Fun, interesting and an experience.

What are your college plans?

I have yet to decide where I will be attending but I will be majoring in mechanical engineering.

My kindergarten teacher was Amy Witters.

What is your favorite thing about Fresno Christian? 

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is how tight the community is and all the different opportunities the student have.  

What extracurriculars have you been involved in during high school? 

I have been involved in Brother to Brother, choir, The Feather, soccer, golf, Leadership, worship team and CSF (California Scholarship Federation).

What is something you will take from high school into your future?

The most important thing I will take from Fresno Christian is my friends who push me to become a better person. 

What advice would you give to younger students? 

A piece of advice I would give to younger students is to manage your time but participate in as much as you can.

What is your favorite thing about Fresno Christian?

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is that I have had the opportunity to get to know all of my classmates and build a family.

What extracurriculars have you been involved in during high school?

I have been involved in color guard, drama, worship team and CSF (California Scholarship Federation)

What advice would you give to younger students? 

I would tell them to be involved in as much as you can. Being in a small school gives you the opportunity to make a huge impact.

What are your college plans?

I plan on attending San Jose State University and get a four year degree.

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is the ability to worship and praise God freely.

I have been involved in volleyball, soccer, softball, The Feather, Leadership, Sister to Sister and CSF (California Scholarship Federation).

Describe your high school experience in three words

Crazy, emotional and fun. 

What is your favorite sports memory?

My favorite sports memory would be winning the soccer Valley Championships this year.

I have been involved in color guard, yearbook, art and serve club.

What is your favorite memory at Fresno Christian?

I can not choose a favorite memory, I have enjoyed everything.

What advice would you give to younger students?

I would tell younger students that they should be themselves and should not care about what other people think.

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is the community and the Christian aspect it has. 

What extracurriculars have you been involved in during high school?

I have been involved in soccer, track, tennis, Leadership, The Feather, Sister to Sister and CSF (California Scholarship Federation)

What is your favorite memory at Fresno Christian?

My favorite memories have come from sports. I think my favorite was winning the Valley Championships in soccer my senior year. 

What are your college plans? 

I will be attending Grand Canyon University this fall. I will be majoring in exercise science with an emphasis on sports performance.

I have been involved in basketball, choir and The Feather.

Too much stress

What is your favorite high school sports memory?

My favorite sports memory was when the basketball team won the Valley Championships at the Selland Arena.

My favorite thing about Fresno Christian is that the teachers are here to help. They are available outside of class and make an effort to get to know each of us on a personal level.

What extracurriculars have you been involved in during high school?

I have been involved in color guard and art.

What is something you will take from high school into your future?

High school has taught me that it is important to stay true to yourself.

What are your college plans?

I will be attending Clovis Community and then transfer to a university.

I have been involved in drama, CSF (California Scholarship Federation) and Sister to Sister.

What is your favorite memory at Fresno Christian?

My favorite memory at Fresno Christian was senior retreat.

What are your college plans?

I do not know where I am attending but I will be double majoring in theatre and English so I can become a theatre teacher.
