Deadline to donate is March 5

[/media-credit] Donations for the 38th annual FCS auction are due by March 5.

UPDATE March 24: For those who have yet to pick up their 2021 FCS Auction items, Lisa Dooley, elementary office manager, is making appointments for the rest of this week for you to pick up. Next week is Easter Break. She will be making appointments the following week, April 5-9, for mornings only 8 a.m. – noon.

According to Christy Rocca, assistant to the superintendent, the 38th annual FCS Auction has brought in over $130,000 with donations still coming in to the office. Thank you to all those who have participated both via volunteering and/or donating or gifting to Fresno Christian Schools.

Original article: March 5

If you like shopping and supporting local Christian education, 38th annual FCS auction is where you need to be on March 10. Mark your calendars, and join the community online for nights of fundraising.

This upcoming auction is inclusive because everyone can participate, March 10-20. While bidding may not be for you, so consider donating to the event. However, donations can not be accepted after March 5.

Dawn Hinton, a campus parent, who has helped organize the school auction for over 10 years, explains some details about the raffle and its purpose.

“For every $25 worth of items brought in by March 5, students are entered into the raffle for Apple air pod pros,” Hinton said. “The raffle is to motivate students and families to bring in items that will sell on the FCS online auction March 10-20.”

This is the second year doing the auction online because of COVID-19 limitations.

“The auction’s purpose is to raise funds to close that gap as much as we can,” Hinton continued, “since tuition alone is not enough. FCS is a non-profit school that does it’s best to keep tuition affordable. Many students are on scholarships so every year there is a gap between the amount that comes in from tuition and the cost to run the school.”

As a private school, no state funds are received in support. This auction helps offset the gap between tuition and actual expenses. Donation items can be dropped off at the elementary school or mailed.

According to Christy Rocca, assistant to superintendent, last year’s auction drew the attention of more than 30,000 auction page views. Between sponsorships and the online auction, the 37th annual FCS auction cleared $80,000.

Students who bring in a donation will also benefit. Dutch Bros. are offering a Dutch Truck for everyone who brings in $25 worth of items to school.

In 2019, the school raised $157,704 for the 37th Annual FCS Auction, the first online auction. The auction theme of ‘Going places’ is to focus on the school’s future and this is a way for students to contribute to their communities.
