Construction on campus

Student parking has drastically changed as new installation of  solar panels are put into place. With the sudden construction moving student parking next to the west field, many wonder, why now?

Starting in 2021, the Momentum Campaign sought to eliminate school debt, install solar panels, construct a new playground, and support multiple school programs including the sports department. A large portion of the budget was put towards solar energy and elementary play area. Students at FCS are seeing the results of this project with the current construction of the solar power in the student parking lot, as well as the finalization of the playground adjacent to the school (Building 5).

This completion is a large step for the FCS community in finalizing the campaign. The momentum project launched in 2021 projected to last two years. Donors have set forth a goal of 3.9 million dollars towards the plan, so finalizing this portion is a big step for those who contributed. Alleviating extreme heat for a majority of the student parking, the shade sturucture will also negate much of the future debt which Fresno Christian would have accumulated through conventional power usage.

According to Peoples church facilities & logistics pastor, Matt Markarian, the student parking lot is estimated to be complete by January 2023 and will be blocked off until then. The new solar panels are, in total, projected to save the school and peoples church an estimated $600,000.
