Basketball season is back! Boys, girls and JV teams head back into the court to begin conditioning and practice, Oct. 20.

Head coach of boys basketball, Jonathan Penberthy, has coached at FC for nine years and is hopeful for the 2022-23 season. 

Penberthy shares how he has high expectations for the returning players as well as the five new team members who will be competing for game time. 

“I think this year is going to be a lot of fun,” Penberthy said. “We have a good schedule, a tough league schedule and overall a great opportunity to have a really good season.”

Tori Tarlton, ‘23, has played under varsity girl’s basketball head coach, Robert Foshee for four years and hopes to step up in a leadership role on the team as one of only two seniors this season. 

 “I am excited to be on the team with my little sister, Tayla Tarlton, ‘26,” Tarlton said. “This is my

last year of high school basketball so I want to make it an amazing season and leave everything out on the court each game.”
