16th annual Econ Fair takes place March 29 during lunch
Each year, seniors in economics class design, advertise and sell a product. Set up in the PC gym, fellow high school and junior high students and teachers can browse the different products.
Teacher Robert Foshee heads the project. Class concepts such as supply and demand, budgeting, marketing and advertising are all applied through this hands-on project.
“It is a lot better to learn outside the classroom than inside the classroom,” Foshee said. “We’ve gone from really simple products to really complex ones and it seems like every year it gets a little better and there’s a little improvement.”
This year, the vendors will be selling a wide variety of items, ranging from tacos to crocheted accessories.
FCS alumna Madi Bryant participated in the 2022 Econ Fair, selling homemade scrunchies and jewelry. Bryant shares her advice to the seniors this year.
“We tried to appeal to the consumer and what they would want,” Bryant said. “Target a specific audience… and make your market to them.”
Here are a few of the items that will be selling this year (prices to be determined):
- Pizzokies
- Chili Frito Boats
- Baked Potatoes
- Italian soda
- Clothing
- Accessories
Whether you want to buy a snack or a necklace, come prepared to support our seniors at the Econ Fair!
