Lights! Camera! Homecoming! Meet your cadidates for the 38th Annual Fresno Christian Homecoming. Voted in by their peers, Jake Wyatt, Donovan Guglielmana, Christopher (Boomer) Mericle, Cal Backowski and Kaleb Marquez are this years senior king candinates. We asked a series of questions to get to know them better. The big event will happen Friday, Oct. 27. Princesses introduced at 5:30 p.m. before kickoff at 6. The Royal Pageant will happen during half time to crown this year’s winners. See you there!

Julia Castiglione

Jake Wyatt:

Wyatt has attended Fresno Christian since 6th grade. Three words to describe him are bold, loyal and passionate. Wyatt’s favorite FCS memories is hitting his first high school home run.

3. If you were stranded on an island which Disney Character would you hope to have with you? Why?

Bambi because he is a good source of food.

 

Julia Castiglione

Donovan Guglielmana:

Guglielmana has attended Fresno Christian since sophomore year. Three words to describe him are quiet, athletic and God fearing. Guglielmana’s favorite FC memory is all of the class activities like hoco, rally and powder puff because their whole class came together. His favorite bible verse is Matthew 25:40, “And the King will answer them. ‘Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'”

1. If you could have one high school do over, what would it be?

I would redo sophomore year because I heard it so many times, ‘Get out of your comfort zone,’ but I never did and basically wasted the whole year.

2. What is the most important quality in a mate?

Overflowing love and peace in there heart, and also athleticism

3. If you could change your name – what would you choose?

Evan which is what I want one of my kids to be named

Christopher (Boomer) Mericle:

Mericle has attended Fresno Christian since 6th grade. Three words to describe him are joyful, optimistic and relatable. Mericle’s favorite FC memory is every float build at the Poplin’s house. His favorite bible verse is Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Step foot in all seven continents

2. Name your childhood stuffed animal or blanket.

Bob the Carrot

3. Where would you like to be in 5 years?

In five years, I’d love to be in my final year of college and hopefully engaged to a beautiful woman that the Lord has blessed me with!

Cal Backowski:

Backowski has attended Fresno Christian since 7th grade. Three words to describe him are royal, rumble and victor. Backowski’s favorite FC memory is six flags. If he could have one high school do over he would’ve been more social earlier.

1. If you were stranded on an island which Disney Character would you hope to have with you? Why?

Maui, he would get me off the island

2. Hollywood crush?

Ryan Reynolds

3. What is the most important quality in a mate?

Shared values

Kaleb Marquez:

Marquez has attended Fresno Christian since kindergarten. Three words to describe him are funny, caring and likable. Marquez’ favorite FC memory is sophomore Sadies. His favorite bible verse is Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
