Vacations individualize relaxation

In the summer many sought to make the most of their school break. Some planned ahead, while others prepared purely on spontaneity. Whether the summer getaways involved shopping at the local mall or walking through ancient Rome, students found their own way to relax over break.

Taryn Brown, ?08, took a summer vacation, which she terms as a last-minute trip.

?My mom texted me at 5 A.M.,? Brown said. ?She asked me if I wanted to go to Carmel. When we got there, we went on a shopping spree and had a picnic on the beach. We went to a restaurant in Monterey; the manager gave us free deserts, because we have never gone to Monterey.?

    At the beginning of the year, Timmy never spoke. Slowly over the year, he’s voluntarily answered questions and participated into the class discussions. When he played Romeo though, I think that was the climax of him finally breaking out of his shell.
