BABY HARRIS ADDS TO FC COMMUNITY
Nathaniel Kai Harris was born Oct. 10, 2012. He arrived at 11;35 p.m., coming in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces; 21 inches “tall”, 13.6 inches around his head.
SPANISH CLUB MEETING
Spanish Club will be holding its next meeting at lunch, Friday, Oct. 12. Membership dues are to be paid by Tuesday, Oct. 9.
TO MORE EARN FIVE-MINUTE MILE CLUB
P.E. teacher Michael Ogden is hosting a challenge to high school students. Run a mile under 6 minutes and join an elite group of athletes. Congrats to the first three members of the 5-minute mile club (5:59 or less). If you see the following three freshman students, congratulate these on their accomplishments.

BIG FRESNO FAIR
The Big Fresno Fair is from Oct. 3-11, come for an exciting experience with family and friends! Tickets are available here. FC students are competing in the annual chalk drawing competition, Oct. 9, in front of the grandstands, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.. Sharon Scharf’s art and home economic students also have entered pieces of art and textiles into competition in the Junior Exhibit Building.
CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT
The Civil War Reenactment is going to be held at Kearney Park at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27 and at 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. Extra credit for attending this event is available for students of Jordana Siebert. Talk to her in Rm. 602 for more information.
TESTING DATES AND INFORMATION
The PSAT will be given in the Peoples Church Gym, at 8 a.m., Oct. 17.
The next SAT test will be administered Nov. 4; the registration deadline was Oct. 3.
The PLAN test will be given on campus in mid-November, more details to be announced. The next ACTACT test is Dec. 8; the registration deadline is Nov. 2 and costs $14.00.
BEACH TRIP ROOTER BUS SIGN-UPS
Tickets for the Oct. 19 football/beach trip to Sunset Beach are now on sale! Students will leave school at 12:30pm and travel to the beach for fun and games. Students who stay at school will attend classes as usual. After going to the beach, students will go to Watsonville High School to root on the campus football team. The busses will return to Fresno Christian at 2 a.m.
In order to go, students must fill out a permission slip, signed by their parents, and pay in the HS office. The early deposit cost for the trip is $40, due Sept. 28. The cost goes up to $45 if students pay between Oct. 1-12. Those who pay between Oct. 15-18, the price is $50. The payment includes the bus ride, snacks on the bus and entrance into the football game.
In order to secure your spot on the bus students must pay the ticket price. Seats are limited.
HOMECOMING GAME
Homecoming is Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. against Immanuel High School. Volunteers are also needed for the stands and booths, contact Michelle Regnerus if interested. Come out to support your team!
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD ON STAGE NOW
PARENTS, STUDENTS and community supporters: Good Company Players and 2nd Space Theatre are currently staging Harper Lee’s inspiring tale, To Kill a Mockingbird, now through Oct. 14. Based on the iconic novel by Harper Lee, this powerful play is set in a quiet southern town in the summer of 1935. We see it all through the eyes of young Scout, whose father Atticus goes to court to defend a young black man amidst an atmosphere charged with threats and hostility.
The junior class will be reading To Kill a Mockingbird during the fall semester. This is a great opportunity to take in the story to enhance the reading experience.
Tickets are now on sale at the box office. It is located in the lobby of Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theatre, 1226 N. Wishon, at Olive and Wishon in the Tower District. Individual ticket are $16 general admission; $15 students & seniors. Showtimes are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays & Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The 2nd Space Theatre is at 928 E. Olive Avenue, at Olive and Van Ness. THE FEATHER NEEDS CAMPUS MEDIA
The Feather needs videographers, photographers, and other media talents. Talk to Greg Stobbe, journalism adviser, if interested.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT NEEDS TALENT
Junior and Senior High School students are strongly encouraged to join choir, band, percussion, and colorguard. Musical adviser Michael Ogdon needs a pianist for jazz band also; see him in the Music Suite. Principal Todd Bennett and Academic adviser Michelle Warkentin can make schedule changes that can enable you to participate.
FALL SPORT SIGNUPS
Signups for fall sports in high school volleyball, football, cross country and track and junior high volleyball and cross country will be outside the athletic office. Football workouts for 8th-11th grade will begin May 15 and be held every Tues.-Fri. from 3:15-5:30 p.m.
DETENTION WARNING
Tardies will be strictly monitored starting this week. If a student receives three or more tardies in a class they will serve lunch detention.
