SUMMER SCHOOL 2009
The campus is planning a traditional summer school this year. The program will begin June 8 and end July 17, running from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday each week. The offered courses include: Spanish I, World History, U.S. History, Civics/Economics, Math I, Pre-Algebra and Geometry.
All classes will be taught by current FCHS faculty. Only one course may be taken. The fee for each course is $400 per student and must be paid by May 27. Upon completion, 10 credits will be awarded for each six-week course, the equivalent of one year’s worth of academic work. Since Civics and Econ are semester courses and are taken separately, students will receive five credits for each.
Sign-up forms are in front of the high school office and they must be signed and returned to the office by Friday, May 8. As course offerings are based on enrollment, an official listing of class offerings will be available on May 12.
LIBRARY MATERIALS DUE
Students must return any checked-out items from the Library Media Center before they can take their finals. The deadline for seniors is Friday, May 25. For all other grades, the deadline is Friday, May 22. As a remember, there is a $30 fee for each item that is not returned; fees are due before finals.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION
All 17- and 18-year-old guys should remember to register with the Selective Service System. Federal law requires all men living in the U.S. to register within a month of their 18th birthday. Registering keeps students eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs and driver’s license renewal in most states. Pick up a Selective Service registration card at a local post office or register online at www.sss.gov.
CELL PHONE POLICY REMINDER
Cell phones are not to be seen in any of the buildings on campus between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., regardless of any reason. They will be taken away and kept by an administrator until after 3 p.m. However, students may use cell phones outside the building or in the high school office, with permission, during school hours.

Every Friday at lunch there is a Bible study for high schools boys in Room 623. Coach Sorenson will be there to lead the discussion. For more information, contact Sorenson.
