Please contact adviser Greg Stobbe if you have any interest in either joining one of three publications classes or participating independently.
BIG APPLE TRIP FOR YEARBOOK, PUBLICATIONS STUDENTS/PARENTS
Publications, yearbook students and their parents have the opportunity to visit the Big Apple in March on a school-sponsored educational trip. Greg Stobbe plans to lead his 6th trip to New York City and attend Columbia University’s 86th annual journalism convention and workshop.
Stobbe sent home an interest form with all his publications students on Tuesday for parents to sign. Please return the form by Monday, August 31. Stobbe needs to know how many students and parents are interested in the trip. For more information, contact Stobbe at [email protected].
CSF APPLICATION
CSF applications for all qualifying sophomores, juniors and seniors are available on the table in front of the office. Submit a copy of your transcript with your completed application and $5 dues to Molly Sargent in the office. Sign up in the office to obtain a transcript by Sept. 4. Applications will not be accepted after Sept. 8.
NEW LUNCH POLICY
Lunches for JH and HS students will be sold by clubs and athletic teams this year. Each week the lunch menu will be posted in the anouncements. Remember that only seniors are permitted to go off campus for lunch with their senior lunch pass. No other students are allowed to go off campus for lunch unless their own parents sign the students out in person. Phone calls or notes will not be accepted.
SCHOOL CARNIVAL AND FALL KICK-OFF
The annual fall kickoff and school carnival will be held on the north field, Aug. 29. It begins with a youth football game vs. Orange Cove at 3 p.m.
There will also be a dunk tank, water slide, bounce house, food booths, face painting, sports memorabilia auction, cake walk and choir and band performance. Team introductions for football, cheer, tennis, volleyball, cross country and club soccer will start at 6 p.m. All tickets for the events will be sold at the door. Tickets will be $.50 each and each booth will have their ticket requirements posted. Come support your school and enjoy fellowship with the community.
We also have the opportunity to bless an Orange Cove family, the Salazars, who lost five children in a recent auto accident. We would like to bless them with donations for the family and throughout the day, we will be accepting donations on their behalf. All funds donated will go directly to the Salazar family. Please help us be a blessing to them. We hope to see you at the carnival.
