    GIRLS’ BIBLE STUDY
    Beginning Monday, Sept. 21, Coach Jennifer Tatum will be facilitating a Bible study for the junior and senior girls during lunch in room 601. It’s going to be a very exciting time of growth in the Lord. Students should bring their lunches and come as quickly as possible.

    PSAT SIGN-UPS
    Students are now eligible to sign-up for the PSAT. The PSAT is a very important test that will help students prepare for the SAT. Also, those who score high on the PSAT may qualify for significant scholarship money. The test will be administered on Oct. 14, and lasts through the morning. Students must pay $13 when they sign-up. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are welcome to apply. Sign-ups will be taken through September 23 only. For more information, see Mrs. Sargent.

    NAIA HONORS FC GRAD
    Fresno Pacific University senior Ashley Sherr was named national offensive player of the week by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for the week of Sept. 7-13. Sherr, a 2006 FC grad, was FPU’s first women’s soccer player to earn the award. She was also named the Golden State Athletic Conference player of the week as she scored all five goals in the Sunbirds’ wins over Southern Oregon and Simpson.

    HOMECOMING THEME ANNOUNCED
    Student leadership announced today the 2009 Homecoming theme: Disney lands. Each class will create a themed float based on one of the lands in the Magic Kingdom. Seniors chose Fantasyland, juniors claimed Adventureland, sophomores selected New Orleans Square and freshman opted for Tomorrowland.

    DRESS CODE
    Principal Bennet has initiated a new rule for dress code. Boys are not allowed to wear baseball hats in the building at all; They may wear them outside the building only.

    FALL SPORTS PICTURES
    The schedule for fall sports pictures have been changed to September 23.

    PICTURE ORDERS
    Those students who ordered pictures from Milne Photography should come by the high school office during the break to pick up their photographs.

    WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
    High school students have begun a weekly Wednesday morning Bible study at 7 a.m. in the Ground Zero cafe. All students are invited for a time of worship and Bible discussion with your fellow students.

    NUT HOUSE T-SHIRTS
    Student Leadership has a small number of Nut House t-shirts left to sell. Students are encouraged to purchase the shirts and wear them to games in order to support the Eagles as a united group. They are being sold in the high school office for only $12 each.The sizes left are:
    Size M – 2
    Size L – 2
    Size XL – 2

    CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FAIR
    Northwest Church will be hosting the Christian College Fair on September 24, 6-8 p.m. Over 40 Christian colleges will be in attendance. Also on September 24, during lunch, Fresno Christian will host its own mini college fair. A dozen colleges from California and across the country will be on campus to provide students with information and answer questions.     GROUND ZERO ACCESS
    Reminder: Fresno Christian students are not allowed in the Ground Zero building at any time without permission or for planned campus activities. Please especially note that the GZ cafe is not a shortcut to GZ main for Tuesday chapel. On Tuesday morning the GZ cafe is being used by another organization for their activity. Off limits applies also to the GZ bathroom facilities.

    VIDEOS ON THE FEATHER
    Videos will now will be embedded into articles on The Feather. To view the videos, scroll to the bottom of an article. Current articles with video include New director pursues excellence and Quarterback refines mental game. However, due to server restrictions, they cannot be viewed on campus.

    ADVENTURE P.E.
    The first Adventure P.E. trip will be surfing in Santa Cruz on Friday, Sept. 18. Sign up in front of the high school office by Sept. 15 if interested. Students who are involved in current sports are ineligible to participate in Adventure P.E.

    MOMS IN TOUCH PRAYER GROUP
    Moms In Touch, a prayer group comprised of JH and HS moms, meets from 8 – 9 a.m. on Friday mornings in Room 204 to pray on the behalf of students. All JH and HS parents are invited to join Moms In Touch every Friday. If a couple dads show up, a Dads In Touch group will be formed.

    Room 204 is near the PC library. If anyone is unable to locate the room, come by the HS office to find out more. For further questions, please contact Gina Wathen at 322-9116.

    SENIOR LUNCH PASSES
    Seniors who are late to 7th period will have their lunch pass taken away for one week after the first offense. The second tardiness will result in the pass being taken away for two weeks. On the third time the pass will be taken away for three weeks. The fourth tardiness will cause the lunch pass to be taken away for all eternity.

    THE FEATHER WANTS YOU
    As a new year begins, so does the need for student involvement. The Feather, the high school newspaper, is in need of videographers, illustrators, podcast hosts and photographers. Please contact adviser Greg Stobbe if you have any interest in either joining one of three publications classes or participating independently.

    NEW YORK TRIP FOR PUBLICATIONS/YEARBOOK STUDENTS, PARENTS
    Publications and yearbook students and their parents have the opportunity to visit New York City in March on a school-sponsored educational trip. Greg Stobbe plans to lead his 6th trip there and attend Columbia University’s 86th annual journalism convention and workshop.

    Stobbe sent home an interest form with all his publications students last Tuesday for parents to sign. Stobbe needs to know how many students and parents are interested in the trip. For more information, contact Stobbe at [email protected].

    PSN BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED
    PSN needs a secretary and treasurer, as well as members for the board. No freshman, sophomore or junior mothers have volunteered. Please contact Pam Powell at [email protected] or at 977-5779.
