POLICE EXPLORERS OPPORTUNITY
The Clovis Police Department Explorer Program is currently accepting applications. The mission of the Explorer program is to expose youth to strict standards, high expectations and a police command structure. For more information, please sign up in the high school office.
ASVAB ADMINISTERED
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program Exam will be administered from 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 12, in the PC Gym. The test is free for all sophomores, juniors and seniors who would like to take it. The exam results can help students learn their strengths and talents, assisting them in making career choices.
Please sign up no later than Dec. 16 in the high school office and pick up a copy of the ASVAB Overview Guide to help you prepare. Home-schooled students are welcome. For more information, contact Academic Adviser Molly Sargent in her office or at 299.1695, ext. 126.
FACULTY/STAFF CHRISTMAS BASKETS
Every year at this time, the parent groups for junior high and high school collect, assemble and deliver Christmas baskets/buckets for delivery to all the teachers and staff. All the items are donated by parents. The groups are collecting a quantity of 10 of any item (e.g., gift cards, baked items individually wrapped, nuts, holiday ornaments) and ask that they be delivered to the high school office by Dec. 15.
The packages will be assembled and delivered on the morning of Dec. 16 in the J.J. Room. Any parents are welcome to join the process at 8 a.m. For more information, contact Lori Mascarenas at 559.260.3135 or by e-mail.
CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Transport yourself to a simpler time: Relax around festively decorated tables with family and friends, enjoy Christmas cookies and cider, sing along with instruments and choirs. The high school vocal and instrumental music ensembles, under the direction of Michael Ogdon, will present the “Round the Tables Carol Sing” concert at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, in the FC Gym. Admission for this Christmas event is free, but tickets for preferred seating will be available.
NOTICE: SCOOTERS NOT ALLOWED
Scooters are not allowed on the Peoples Church campus or inside any buildings. The only places where scooters are allowed to be ridden are the parking lots. Violation of this rule will result in scooters being confiscated. Scooters will only be returned to parents.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT SELLS MUFFINS
Music department students are selling muffins, croissants and vitamin water every morning for $1 each. They are sold outside Building 6 from 7:15 to 7:50 a.m. The proceeds benefit instrumental and choral groups.
PARKING PASSES
Parking passes for the high school lot are now available. In order to obtain yours, first get the parking pass form from Mrs. Sargent. Fill it out, then take it to Mrs. Regnerus in the high school office with the $10 semester fee and your California driver’s license.
You will not be issued a pass if you do not show your license when turning in the form and money. Students with parking passes may park in the main Alluvial lot and in the slots adjacent to the gym. Starting Aug. 30, vehicles that do not have a parking pass will be cited and possibly towed.
