    Announcement: 2014-11-05

    By Katie Jacobson,writer

Attention Parents of 10th-12th grade students:

The High School Enrichment Program is an opportunity that has been made available for students who are interested in taking classes at the community college while still in high school. This is not a good fit for all students, but can be beneficial for high achieving students who are looking to get ahead academically!

High school students can take community college classes for the Spring 2015 semester through the Educational Enrichment Program (High School Enrichment).

The Clovis Community College Center is hosting informational orientations and are encouraging your students to attend to learn more.

Evening Orientation sessions are available for students and parents on the following dates:

    — Nov. 4, 2014 Clovis Community College Center – AC1 150
    — Nov. 10, 2014 Herndon Campus, Building B – 308
    — Nov. 13, 2014 Herndon Campus, Building B – 308

All sessions are scheduled from 6-7 p.m. (please choose one session to attend). No reservations are required.

The next ACT test will be Dec. 13. The registration deadline is Nov. 7. If students are looking for a test prep option, please contact Michelle Warkentin in the academic office or at [email protected] for more information.

The next registration deadline for the SAT is Nov. 6. The test will be held on Dec. 6.

Fresno Pacific University will be putting on the play Truth and Reconciliation from Nov. 13-15, 20-22 at 8 p.m. The performance will be in the Severance Building at the California Arts Academy. For more information, click here.

The 38th Annual Messiah Sing Along will take place on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The event will take place in the FPC Sanctuary. There is limited seating, so it is recommended to arrive an hour early.

Drama will be performing The Gift of the Magi on Dec. 8 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Student Ministry Center. The HS Choir will be performing during the play and in between scenes.

The annual college trip has been postponed until next semester on March 3-4, 2015. It is open to all CSF members and students (10th-12th grade) with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The athletic deptartment will be selling FCS sports membership passes starting Sept. 2. Click here for more information. Individual passes: $125. Family passes (admits up to 4 people): $275. The passes are valid for FCS home football, basketball and volleyball games, excluding CIF foundation games and playoffs. Contact Jon Penberthy via email or phone at 559.299.1695, ext. 108, for more information.

All school students must be in dress code at all school sports events, both on campus and at away games. Students who are out of dress code will be asked to change clothes and may be required to leave the event if they are unable to comply.

If anyone is interested in photography and has a free 3rd period please talk to Kori Friesen about joining Photojournalism. She can be contacted at [email protected].
