Applications are now being accepted for California Scholarship Federation. Those who qualify should pick up an application from Molly Sargent. Semester dues are $5; enrollment will be open until Sept. 1. No late applications will be accepted. For more information, see Sargent in Room 621 or in her office.
FRESNO STATE SCHOLARSHIP
Seniors, if you are interested in attending California State University, Fresno, in the fall and believe that you may qualify for a President’s Scholarship from the Smitcamp Family Honors College, please see Molly Sargent for application details. The application will be available online beginning Sept. 1.
BASKETBALL
All high school girls interested in playing basketball this winter please come to our meeting at lunch in Room 601, Sept.1. We will provide lunch and drinks. We will be discussing the information for this up coming season. Hope to see you there!
CROSS COUNTRY AND TENNIS

COMMUNITY COLLEGE HONORS PROGRAMS
Fresno City Community College and Willow International Community College both have honors programs available to qualifying students. Those would like to attend two years of community college and experience challenging classes with the promise of UC admission, see Molly Sargent for more details.
SISTER2SISTER
Junior and senior girls: If you are interested in participating in the Sister2Sister program this year, information and and applications can be picked up from Hallie Rojeski in Room 628 beginning Aug. 30. The commitment is three lunch periods per month. Applications are due to Rojeski by Sept. 6.
FALL SPORTS PICTURES
High school volleyball pictures will be taken Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. in the FC Gym. High school football pictures will be taken Sept. 7 at 3:30 p.m. in the FC Gym. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Regnerus in the athletic office.
YALE VISIT
Our local Yale University representative, Anthony Losongco, will be on campus in Room 621 to answer questions about applying to and attending Yale specifically, and the Ivy Leagues in general, from 6-8 p.m., Sept. 8. This will be the only opportunity FC students will have this school year to learn about Yale, so please plan to attend. Both parents and students are welcome. See Molly Sargent for more information.
PSAT
The practice SAT (PSAT) will be administered on campus in the Peoples Church Gym from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., Oct. 12. Sophomores and juniors must sign up and pay the $13 fee in the high school office by Sept. 21. All freshmen will be taking the PSAT free of charge as a part of a nationwide study for the College Board, the administer of the PSAT and SAT. Those who are are in ninth grade and do not wish to participate in taking the PSAT, please let Molly. Sargent know immediately. All students grades nine through eleven are encouraged to take this preparatory exam for the SAT. See or contact Sargent for more information.
COLLEGE FAIRS
The annual Fresno County Office of Education College Fair will be from 6-9 p.m., Sept. 14, at the New Convention Center downtown. Admission is free. Over 100 colleges and universities, private, public and Christian will be represented. See Molly Sargent for more details.
The annual mini college fair will be held in the Ground Zero quad from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Sept. 21. Come and learn about the many college and university options available to FC students! Over 25 academic institutions were represented last year, so don’t miss out.
The National Christian College Fair will be at Buchanan High School from 6-8 p.m., Sept. 20. Many Christian colleges and universities will be represented, and there is no entrance fee, so plan to attend!
MOMS AND DADS CLUBS
The Moms and Dads Clubs’ first major responsibility this year will be organizing the concessions and activities for the home football games (High school and Youth/Pop Warner). We are looking for volunteers to help with admissions, ticket sales, barbecuing, concessions, fifty/fifty giveaway, setup and clean up. The high school home games will be on Friday evenings. Youth football games will be Saturday afternoons. We would like to have the setup done and concessions going about an hour before the game, and start winding down by the 4th quarter.
High school game dates are: Sept. 9, 23, Oct. 7, 14, 28 and Nov. 11. Youth game dates are: Sept. 10, 24, Oct. 1 and 8.
We are also looking for donations for the concessions. Listed below are several items we would greatly appreciate. They can be dropped off at the main office or the athletic office at FC.
Bottled Water (cases)
Gatorade (20 oz cases)
Sodas (canned cases)
Napkins, paper plates, plastic utensils, paper cups, paper bowls.
SPORTS FEES
