
Spring kicks off quickly in March this year with nature beginning to bloom and daylight savings time taking effect on March 7, 2025. As spring advances, many events begin to pop up for the near future to the end of the school year on the calendar, including:
1. March 18-23 – New York Trip
Feather Advisor Kori James takes a group of four editors to New York, March 18-23, to attend the 101st California Scholastic Press Association’s annual spring conference. They will not only be learning from other news teams around the nation but also have the opportunity to guest teach classes on Canva, feature writing and social media to a total of 27 other schools. The team returns home with a gold crown from CSPA, gaining national recognition for their year-round work. Check out The Feather travels to NYC for CSPA Centennial Conference for more details.
2. April 2 – Econ Fair

Seniors spend their remaining time preparing for Econ Fair, where they will showcase their assignments, partnered businesses for the purpose of lessons in management and funding, in hopes to make the most profit. It will take place on April 2 during lunchtime and sales will be available for both FC middle school and high school students. These businesses involve the sale of a designated product, taking one’s creativity and collaborative skills to compose an innovation.
Zoe Blanchfield, ‘27, is a lifer at Fresno Christian and has been taking part in Econ Fair since middle school, purchasing the annual innovations made by students, and is now the one creating the products.
“My product is called Bite and Boost, and we’re selling soft pretzel bites and specialized drinks like flavored lemonade as well as red bulls with toppings you can add,” Blanchfield said. “I am most excited to see everyone come together and enjoy all the products and businesses created by us seniors.”
3. April 4-6 – Choir Trip

Choir Teacher and Director Susan Ainley will take both Chamber and Concert Choir students to perform at Second Baptist Church in Anaheim, April 4-6. Choir students will showcase three songs that have been practiced rigorously over the course of this school year. The song list for the concert choir performance includes Exultate Justi, Shenandoah and Swilo Yini. The songs for Chamber Choir include “The Two Rose Songs,” “Freedom,” “Great Day,” and “Cantante Domino.” This performance will incorporate a series of songs along with choreography.
Sailor Seibert, ‘26, is a first-year concert choir student, collaborating with peers to create a musical performance and navigating the components of singing.
“Over the course of this year, we have been working a lot on our performances and creating choreo to go with the songs,” Seibert said. “I’m mostly excited for the bonding that comes along with the trip and if we win anything it would be amazing to see everyone celebrate as a team.”
4. April 8 – Cheer Tryouts

FC Varsity Cheer begins to prepare for the upcoming season with cheer tryouts.
Clinic #1 – 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 6
Clinic #2 – 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, April 7
Parent Meeting – 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 7
Tryouts – 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 8
For those who make the team, uniform fittings will be held at 7:30 a.m. on April 9. All of these events will take place in the FC gym at these select times. For tryouts, it is suggested that participants wear maroon, black and/ or white attire.
5. April 9-19 – Europe Trip

Students involved currently or priorly in AP European History and The Feather classes anticipate the upcoming Europe trip over spring break. From April 9-19, students will visit Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Krakow. Those visiting will get the opportunity to visit Auschwitz, an infamous concentration camp that was a part of the holocaust. Other tours will be available including, seeing famous landmarks and historical monuments. Junior Georgia Karlson is set to go on the Europe trip to explore new destinations alongside fellow peers.
“I applied for this trip because I have always wanted to go to Europe and I thought it would be a great opportunity to see different parts of the world,” Karlson said.
6. May 1-4 – Drama Production
FC’s Drama program will showcase their annual performance on May 1-4 at Redemption Bible Church. The musical, “The Sound of Music,” was a bold pick, but with an extensive cast list, spectators are anticipating an entertaining show. Fresno Christian’s annual high school formal is coming up quickly and students are preparing for a night of fun. FC student leadership is working to put together the entertainment, advertisements, location and theme for FC students to partake in. Formal is set to be at 6 p.m. May 9, 2025, at Wolf Lakes in Clovis, CA. The theme is yet to be announced but can be anticipated to come in the near future.
Junior Jacob Christensen started his second year of high school leadership this fall striving for creativity and integrity in the classroom.
“Being a part of the entertainment committee this year I am really focused on creating an experience different than anything we’ve ever done,” Christensen said. “We’re listening to the student body and working on providing a night no one could anticipate.”
