Jane, Hailey and Kendall Higton, three soccer players from the Higton family, are all at different stages in their soccer journeys. But they share the same dedication and passion for the game. From early life to high school, the girls bond over the family’s love for soccer.
Each of them has worked tirelessly to get where they are, putting in long hours at practice, traveling for games, and balancing academics. In fact, all together, they put up around 32-36 hours of training a week. Their experiences show how commitment and support can shape young athletes.
Jane Higton, ’27, has committed to play Division I soccer at Cal Baptist University. Her commitment as a junior shows how much effort she has put into the sport over the years.
“I have had to make a lot of sacrifices to get to this point in my soccer journey,” Higton said. “There are small things like give out sleeping in on weekends or hanging out with friends.”
Jane Higton is known for being focused and disciplined, both on and off the field. She takes her training seriously and leads by example during practices and games. Playing at a high level has helped her grow as a player, and committing to a college program is a big achievement that reflects her hard work.
On Jan. 19, junior Hailey Higton committed to California State University, Fresno, to play Division 1 soccer. Although the recruiting process can be stressful, Hailey Higton stayed motivated and focused on improving her game throughout her journey.

“This recruiting process has been super long for me and so my mindset was ‘however long it takes, the Lord will bring me to a school that is the right fit for me,'” Higton said. “I am so happy to say that the Lord was so evident in the whole process.”
Hailey Higton worked hard to earn recognition from college coaches while still enjoying the sport she loves. She plays with determination and a positive mindset, which has helped her overcome challenges and reach this milestone.
Both Jane and Hailey Higton play for the Clovis CrossfireĀ 2009Ā Girls Academy (GA), where they compete at a high level and face competition that helps them continue developingĀ their skills.
“Playing a sport that your closest family enjoys is an experience like no other,” Hailey Higton said. “I have been playing with Jane now for a while now and she honestly helped me start the sport. So I give a lot of credit to her.”

Freshman Kendall Higton, sister to Jane Higton, plays for the California Odyssey Soccer Club 2010 ECNL Girls Team. Even at a younger age, Kendall shows confidence and strong potential on the field.Ā
“I pray and try to have a good attitude and trust in God,” Higton said.
Playing in the ECNL allows her to compete against top players and continue growing early in her soccer career. Her experience now is helping set the foundation for future college recruitment.
Support from others has been a big part of all three players’ success. Jane and Kendallās dad, Jason Higton, has been there to encourage and support them through games, practices and long seasons. Higton has also played a role in supporting the girls and helping them stay motivated.
Having people who believe in them has made a difference, especially during tough moments.
Personal trainer Garrett Perez has made a strong impact on Hailey, Jane and Kendall. Perez currently works with Hailey and previously worked with Jane and Kendall earlier in their soccer journeys.

“I have had the privilege of training all three since they were very young,” Perez said. “Hailey, Jane and Kendall exemplify the truth that champions are not born; they are made through encouragement, hard work, and perseverance through adversity.”
Coach Garrett is known for pushing athletes to work hard and take responsibility for their development. His coaching has helped the girls gain confidence and a better understanding of the game, both on and off the field.
“If you had to use one word to describe Hailey, Jane, and Kendall Higton, both as players and as individuals, it would be complete,” Perez said. “Not only are they exceptional soccer players and high-achieving students, but they also possess winning character, leadership, and integrity.”
Together, Jane, Hailey and Kendall Higton represent the dedication, resilience and passion it takes to succeed in competitive soccer.Ā Though each is at a different stage of their journey, their shared commitment and strong support system continue to guide their growth both on and off the field. As they move forward, the Higton girls work hard for the game that will continue to shape their futures.Ā
