CSF, Falcons aid Children’s Hospital

The Fresno Falcons will host the merger between California Scholarship Federation (CSF) and Children’s Hospital Central California at the Save Mart Center, March 11.

Volunteers will hand out fliers, collect donations and provide assistance throughout the game, starting at 6 P.M.

Senior Kara Linkowski, president of the Children’s Hospital committee, conjured 15 volunteers, but has five more spots available.

“Its a good opportunity to serve the community,” Linkowski said. “Its a fun way to raise money for the kids at Children’s Hospital and their families.”

Each volunteer receives two tickets for helping and is able to watch the game after completing their work.

This will be the first time students will assist the hospital with the Fresno Falcons. In previous venues, CSF has read with patients at the Children’s Literacy Fair and collected money at Christmas Tree Lane.

Students will receive five hours of community service for their aid at the game.

“Its good to do something for other people,” junior Scott Orcutt, member of the ethnic food committee, said. “They (Children’s Hospital) are a big organization and they need all the help they can get.”

For those interested in volunteering, sign-up at the high school office or with Linkowski.

I am not sure if I would enjoy eating a burrito in the morning, but it sounds delicious. I can not believe it takes seven people to fold! I think I want to join Home ec. just to eat all of the yummy food.
