Senior economics students tackle their latest class project with the hope of drawing one step closer to the world of business from March 20-22.

“They are discovering and working on what it means to be a true entrepreneur,” economics teacher Robert Foshee said. “The students have basically ran through the process of finding an idea and then trying to market it within the student body.”

The class has done everything from brainstorming a marketable product to constructing actual prototypes of what they plan to sell. They have even gone so far as to advertise their products on campus.

“Shanda Kemp and I marketed the ?hidden cookie’ product,” Lindsay De Costa, ’02, said. “Different cookies are covered in chocolate so that you don’t know what you are getting until you bite into it.”

The class has spent approximately three weeks working on the project. During this time they learned how to figure a reasonable price to charge and still make a profit.

“The company we created for ourselves is C and C’s Burgers and Auto Detail,” Caleb Janca, ’02 said. “You can enjoy a tasty, homemade burger while having your car steamed and vacuumed.”

The goods themselves will be going on sell Mar. 22 in the lunch area. Prices will be low, no more than a few dollars per item.
