Supertones Strike Back again

With the release of their newest album, the Supertones have struck back again. This time with their newest release, Live, the Supertones have everything from heavy ska core like “Grounded” to worship songs like the ever-popular “Amazing Love” and “Holiness.”

In the Supertones first four CDs the range of music varies greatly from ska to worship to an in your face ska core message.

But in Live the Supertones mix their best songs and a few new worship songs from all four of their previous CDs. The new CD was also recorded live during a 17-track performance from Seattle.

“I love the up beat ska tempo the Supertones display in their music,” Douglas DenHartog, ’05, said. “The Supertones are great and I like how they mix different styles of music into the ?Live’ C.D.”

The Supertones released Live in late March and is already growing in popularity not only with the teenagers, but with many youth pastors as well.

“I love the songs ?Unite’ and ?Return of the Revolution,'” youth pastor Kevin Doyle of North East Assembly of God, said. “The Supertones music just gets me pumped up for the day.”

The Supertones never fail to impress me with their awesome music and beats. Not only do the Supertones perform great live and keep producing new music on a regular basis, but they show the love of God in their songs.

“The Supertones are an awesome band,” Dawn Steele, ’03, said. “I love how they mix a Christian message their ska style. Many bands that are as popular as the Supertones would slowly drown out their message of God, but the Supertones have done the opposite.”

Many Christian bandsperformers such as Amy Grant and MXPX slowly got rid of their message of Christ with their growing popularity. However, not only have the Supertones kept their message, but have matured and brought more depth in to their music.

Live can be purchased at any local Bible bookstore such as Berean and Majesty for $17.98. For more information on the Supertones, go to www.ocsupertones.com.
