Update: PSN’s fundraising event for the 2009-10 school year was a success. Five wonderfully decorated homes and about a dozen gracious volunteer docents provided 90 guests with a great day. PSN raised approximately $1,500 because of the event. The money will go toward scholarships, teacher appreciation gifts and special needs of the classrooms.
The Parent Support Network (PSN) will host its first annual Harvest Home Tour from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 14. This fundraiser serves to raise money for PSN in order to provide scholarships for seniors, support high school activities and provide the teachers with appreciation gifts.
Five families will open their homes for the FCS community and supporting churches to tour. Only one ticket is required for access to all five homes. The cost per ticket for the event is $20 if purchased in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are available at all FCS offices.
The tour may begin at whichever house one chooses to attend and in whichever order is preferable.
The five hosts, who are all FC families, include Victor and Jennifer Breedlove, Jose and Ivette Ibarra, John and Sherri Lee, John and Cynthia Ward and Seth and Chrissy Williams. Refreshments will be available at the Breedlove and Ward homes.
According to Lee, a Harvest Home Tour host, the fundraiser serves to bring people together and raise funds at the same time.
“The contrast between the homes is part of what makes the tour very interesting and fun,” Lee said. “The homes range in size from 3000 to 9000 square feet. The houses range from brand new to 70 years old. All homes feature distinctively different architectural and decorating styles which reflect the homeowners’ taste.
