Superintendent Debbie Siebert addressed the Fresno Christian community in the first annual State of the School Address, Jan. 25. The meeting was held in order to provide stakeholders with information on how the organization is performing as a school, a ministry and a business.
Siebert gave highlights of the arts, athletic and academic accomplishments of students. She discussed the School of Faith and the effectiveness of campus ministries.
“We are hopeful that as we continue to be intentional about having the attitude of Christ, our ministry will deepen and the culture of our school will truly make the invisible God visible to those our lives touch,” Siebert said in her speech.
The Address included an overview of the financial profile of the school. Siebert touched on the importance of fundraising in order to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating students. Gifts made to the Annual Fund will bridge this tuition gap. Siebert stressed that participation in the upcoming FCS Auction in March and tax-deductible contributions from families are critical to balancing this year’s budget.
The Address closed with information about significant changes that are taking place in partnerships with the home and local church and a hopeful look to the future of FC’s positive influence on others.
“Thirty-three years ago, two men were given a vision to provide a place in Fresno where the absolutes of Scripture could be taught on a daily basis in a loving, nurturing environment,” Siebert said. “Together we have continued that vision at Fresno Christian Schools and together we will accomplish great things. Together we will advance the cause of Christ in our community.”
