Ideas jump around the walls of room 621 and students debate everything from cover to captions. Every year, the yearbook staff, under the supervision of adviser Molly Sargent, prepares a high school yearbook.
This year’s yearbook theme is “For all it’s worth.” The staff feels the theme reflects what their attitude as Christians should be, “that is, everything we do should be done to the best of our ability that God gives us, out of gratitude for the sacrifice that Christ made,” Sargent said.
Classmates buy the yearbook to remember all the memories they had with friends and teachers during the school year.
“Students should buy the yearbook because it helps to remember events,” Sargent said. “The yearbook is an absolutely irreplaceable historical document.”
This year’s yearbook cover is different from any other. It is the most overtly Christian the school has ever used. The yearbook staff hopes to sell 250 books and sold 139 during the one-day sale.
“The cover is very religious and I think that it’s about time because we are a Christian school,” Hillary Kell, ’05, said. “I am very excited because it is really cool looking.”
A special yearbook sign up party gave students the opportunity on Sept. 13, to order yearbooks for $60. The price increased to $65 after the party. The cost will not exceed $70.
