Dear editor:
Education is a necessity for everyone. Without high standards, how can people challenge themselves by achieving higher on their test scores?
In the article “AP pass rate tops county schools,” posted on 8/23/10 by Austin Ward [editor-in-chief], it describes how Fresno Christian has the top AP pass rate out of the entire Fresno County. Through the final results, more people should be interested in applying to this school because of the quality outcomes of getting an advanced education.
When taking AP courses at Fresno Christian, the school benefits by creating a good reputation, but also individuals can apply more to their education than other public school kids. Colleges such as Yale, Harvard and Stanford always look for students who can take the heat of vigorous courses, which gives an advantage of a college of a person?s choosing.
I also heard that the science department might not offer AP Biology in the upcoming years. Hopefully, by the time I’m in eleventh grade, there will be AP Biology for students, since I am interested in psychology.
