[media-credit name=”FC file photo” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]The Paramount Academy Wolves hosted the FC Eagles, Sept. 4. This was the fourth pre-season game for the Eagles and after the long drive, the Eagle’s came out on top.
The first match showed the Eagles that this game was a chance to start running some more challenging plays. FC was able to take a significant lead and beat the Wolves, 25-11.
In the second match, the Eagles continued to hold a strong lead against Paramount Academy and defeated them, 25-14.
As the third match approached, some of the second string were given the opportunity to play and secured the win for the Eagles.
Coach Jonathan Penberthy is proud of his girls for keeping their winning streak, but still feels they have so much more potential.
“I was happy to see the girls play more aggressive even when the team wasn’t quite at our level,” Penberthy said. “But if they want to make it to Valleys, they’re going to have to play hard every game no matter the team.”
Senior Ashley Garcia wants to see the team play hard no matter what team they face.
“I would like to see us play to the best of our ability whether it’s an easy team or a hard team,” Garcia said. “I want us to also use these games as an opportunity to work on harder plays that we only do during practice such as X’s, ones and shoots.”
At the end of the three matches, Junior Olivia Quebe took the lead in kills with a total of 10 followed by Senior Gabriela Siqueiros with 7.
The FC Eagles will be hosting the Sierra Chieftains, Sept. 9.
