VOLLEYBALL, 2011

EAGLES DEFEAT TIGERS, 3-0–OCT. 6
The Eagles played against Tranquillity for their second straight win, dominating the Tigers, 3-0, Oct. 7. During the first set, the Eagles won a tight game, 25-22, but they stepped up their game by winning the next two sets, 25-16, and 25-17.

Annaleah Madison, ’14, says that winning two league games in a row boosted the team’s confidence.

“I was excited that we won once again,” Madison said. “I think it brought our team closer together as one. It also gives us a lot of confidence for the upcoming games. I think the area we need to work is transitioning back into our defensive positions and believing in ourselves.”

According to the team’s senior captain Allison Camden, she is glad that the team won and agrees with Madison on working on transitioning.

“Winning two games in a row felt really good,” Camden said. “I was pleased that we won. But we definitely need to work on transitioning because we are going to see a lot more scrappy teams this season.”

Please return later for more on this match.

The Eagles will next travel to Caruthers High to take on the Blue Raiders to continue their West Sequoia League season, Oct. 13.
