VOLLEYBALL, 2011

REDCATS BEAT EAGLES, 3-1–Nov. 1
The Eagles played the Fowler Redcats for their seventh league game of the season, Nov. 1. FC won the first set, 25-18, but during the second set, Fowler stepped up their game and won, 25-21. The next two sets, they had a tight score but Fowler defeated the Eagles both games, 25-20.

Head coach Jeff MacNeill says that although Fowler was a tough competition, they learned valuable lessons from playing such difficult team.

“Fowler is always a good team,” MacNeill said. “Last night, the ladies showed great character in the way they hardened themselves. Although we lost this game, rather then taking it as a loss we are using it as a learning experience to take us in to the playoffs.”

Freshman Gaby Siqueiros agrees with MacNeill and says the game against Fowler was truly an exellent experience for the team. Despite the loss, she is proud of her teammates for trying to persevere each point.

“I am disappointed that we lost,” Siqueiros said. “Because we beat them last time and we tried our best to beat them once again. Although we realized that we would lose, we did not give up until the end. All of us were doing everything in our powers to save every ball.”

The Eagles will next play Parlier High School, Nov. 3.
