In an effort to bring in various guest speakers throughout this year, Mark Whitacre will be visiting chapel to share his story and testimony, Dec. 6.
Bible teacher Robert Foshee arranged to have Whitacre attend to give the students differing perspectives and opportunities.
“He was visiting Fresno to speak for KMS Radio and on TV,” Foshee said. “He has space in his schedule to speak with us and I thought it would be interesting and inspiring for the students to hear his testimony.”
Whitacre is well-known for the major motion picture, The Informant!, based off of his personal story. He provides an interesting perspective into the corporate world and reveals the greed and corruption.
He commonly focuses on two themes, one of God’s grace and second chances and the other revolves around the reasons that leaders become corrupt and the values that allow him to prevent that.
Whitacre has also done undercover work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) during the ADM scandal, which also contributed to his movie storyline. He holds the position of Chief Operation Officer and President of Operations at Cypress Systems Inc.
The various positions he has held have allowed him to travel the world. Spending four years in West Germany, and some work in Southeast Asia has given him a wide range of views.
Foshee hopes for the students to leave the chapel with a new sense of seeing the world because of the effects of God’s mercy.
“I want them [students] to sea in earthly terms how Mr. Whitacre had everything,” Foshee said. “But until he recieved Christ, he was empty inside.”

The wonderful stairs… My legs were rather tired and sore after that work out, but at least we were able to run in the air conditioning.
