LETTER: Art is my passion

Dear editor:

When people think about art, the first thing that comes to mind is usually paint brushes and color crayons; but really art is so much more than meets the eye. Art to me is the greatest most beautiful aspect of life and there are many meanings behind the finished piece.

There are a lot of different types and ways to define and use art in everyday life. The ways I use art in my life is using it as art therapy art in my life is using it as art therapy so I am able to escape reality and just go into this whole other world of color mixtures and paint stokes.

Art to me is my way of expressing myself and who I am and who I want to become in life. I honestly am so blessed that God gave me the privilege to know how to paint and express my gift through the paint brush.

I have always loved art and its diverse colors that can create beautiful work that comes to life through its meanings. I started really getting interested once I painted my first watercolor piece freshman year, and since then I’ve known that’s where I want to go in life.

To some people art is probably considered boring, strange, or maybe even difficult. And to non artists, actual artists seem weird to them because of how they express there work through there actions, paintings, and lifestyle. But I strongly believe that if art is your calling in life, go for it and follow your heart no matter what people’s opinions are.

So that is exactly what I am going to do for my future. I am going to live my life to the fullest in every way through the beauty of art, and just go where God wants to take me in this journey.
