Girls' soccer promo, 2011-12 (VIDEO)

After winning two of three games at the Garces Holiday Festival in December, the Eagle girls soccer team will begin play in the West Sequoia League against Fowler, Jan. 10, 2012 at 5:30 p.m.

The Eagles are coming off their best game of the season when they played Desert Scorpions who are from Edwards Air Force Base. The Eagles defeated the Scorpions, 2-1, and placed 5th in the Garces tournament’s Bronze Division.

Head coach Tony Martinez is proud of the team and their hard work against Desert.

“This was their best game so far,” Martinez said. “They played with a passion and a will to win. It was an impressive win by the Eagles. The girls finally started to play as a team and they knew they could win. They started passing, defending and attacking the ball. They never quit and even kept their sportsmanship.”

The Lady Eagles will play their first home game against Riverdale, Jan. 16. FC is currently 0-0 in the WSL and 4-7 overall as of Dec. 17.
