The 44th episode of “FC Underground,” covers the week of Feb. 19-Feb. 24, 2012. “FC Underground” is a weekly segment hosted for the first time by Callista Fries, ’15, and produced by Austin Rurik, ’12.
With senior Brooke Stobbe on a college visitation trip, freshman Callista Fries takes over the reigns of FC Underground for the first time.
Fries begins this segment reminding girls of the Sister2Sister lunch on Tuesday and a review of Night of the Stars and interviews a few participants. She also reminds students of that this week is Freedom Week and to pray for Fresno, club pictures will be taken during lunch on Wednesday and that Spanish Club will meet on Friday.
While girls soccer lost in the WSL playoffs to Firebaugh, 2-1, their coach Tony Martinez was named the WSL Coach of the Year.
This is the NSPA/JEA annual Scholastic Journalism Week so The Feather is promoting student journalism this week.

The segments consist of news, interviews, profiles and comments on campus life. Each episode is between two and three minutes in length.
“FC Underground” first ran in the fall of 1997 and continued until the spring of 2001. In the fall of 2009, editor-in-chief Suzanna Quiring, ’10, resumed the series, which was then produced by Paige Powell, ’10. After Quiring and Powell graduated, Stobbe and Casuga took up the job until this year.
