FC Underground, Ep. 51 (VIDEO)

The 51st episode of “FC Underground,” covers the week of April 16-21, 2012. “FC Underground” is a weekly segment hosted by Brooke Stobbe, ’12, Callista Fries, ’15, and produced by Austin Rurik, ’12.

This last week, The Feather editors and adviser Greg Stobbe traveled to Seattle, WA, and attended the National Scholastic Press Association’s annual journalism convention. The Feather Online was awarded its 4th Pacemaker and won 3rd in Best of Show, April 14. The group also taught four sessions at the convention about online journalism.

The Winter Sports Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. in Ground Zero Main. All winter athletes will be honored and presented with their coaches awards.

Fresno Christian Schools is hosting the ACSI and WASC accreditation team this week. The last time FCS was accredited was six years ago and earned the maximum accreditation.

The baseball team will travel to Caruthers to play the Blue Raiders on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and Friday against Fowler.

Golf is playing on Tuesday at Lemoore and Thursday at Airways Golf and Country Club.

The choral department is hosting their spring concert on Tuesday in Ground Zero beginning at 7 p.m. The instrumental program will then give their spring concert on Thursday.

The segments consist of news, interviews, profiles and comments on campus life. Each episode is between two and three minutes in length.

“FC Underground” first ran in the fall of 1997 and continued until the spring of 2001. In the fall of 2009, editor-in-chief Suzanna Quiring, ’10, resumed the series, which was then produced by Paige Powell, ’10. After Quiring and Powell graduated, Stobbe and Casuga took up the job until this year.
