BOYS’ TENNIS 2012

FC PROVES TRIUMPHANT OVER FIREBAUGH–May 3
The Eagles played the Firebaugh Eagles for their Senior Night game, May 3. It was battle of the Eagles as both teams battled it out on the courts. FC finished strong, defeating Firebaugh, 8-1.

Seniors Brady Lee, Jacob Williams and Jon Passmore were all honored in a pre-match recognition ceremony. The senior leaders were applauded by teammates, parents and fans alike.

Coach Foshee says he is proud that his team could bring home the victory on Senior Night. He shares his thoughts on the seniors’ last match.

“It’s bitter sweet,” Foshee said. “You get to celebrate their accomplishments but also you just feel sad that they are not going to be around more.”

Foshee believes the three seniors will make a positive impact wherever they end up going. He’s thankful for the opportunity to publicly honor them in front of their family and peers.

“It’s time to move on,” Foshee said. “They will get to bless people in other places. It’s cool to celebrate and honor them for the time they put into the program.”

For the most part, the Eagles were dominant in their matches. Four year varsity player Brady Lee, shares how it felt to play in his last home match ever.

“It was a little weird to think that I will never play a high school match on these courts ever again,” Lee said. “I tried to take it all in. I have made awesome memories playing tennis these last four years. Today was a very nice way to end my league journey.”

With league officially over, FC is currently in playoffs. They will travel to play a TBA opponent, May 9.

A few of the Eagles will travel to Caruthers to play in the West Sequoia League tournament, May 5.
