BRIEF: First 5th Quarter to follow opening football match

With football’s first home game approaching, Student Leadership class has coordinated the first 5th Quarter of the year at Me-N-Eds Pizzeria, Aug. 24. All high school students are invited to attend. This social event is a time for the entire student body to hang out after the first home football game.

The FC campus has organized 5th Quarter for many years; this is a way for students to get aquatinted with the football team and others. The roots of 5th Quarter run deep into the FC’s past since 1998, when Christopher Schultz, ’91, and former P.E. teacher Eunie McEntee, created the event. Back then, the event was held at Luna’s Pizzeria in Old Town Clovis.

For senior Kristen Rosenthal, 5th Quarter is something more than just a party.

“The 5th quarter is a tradition; FC has held one every year since I have been a freshman,” Rosenthal said. “I want to bring back the same spirit we had during freshman year at Luna’s. We are hoping to pass down this tradition to the class beneath us and so forth.”

For incoming freshman like Zach Leehman, ’16, they are excited but unsure what to expect.

“I don’t know what 5th Quarter is but everyone says its the place to be after the home football games,” Leehman said. “I have high expectations for the 5th Quarter, unlimited pizza, drinks, and music should be fun.”

5th Quarter is scheduled to follow the first home football game at Me-N-Ed’s across the street, caddy corner from Casa Corona. Admission will cost $5 for unlimited pizza and fountain drinks.

Me-N-Eds is located on 7080 North Cedar Avenue, Fresno, CA 93720. For more information please contact Robert Foshee or Kim Bimat or any Student Leadership student and they will answer any questions.
