The Eagles traveled to Los Angeles to take on the Calvary Murrieta High School Warriors in their sixth game – a non league battle. The undefeated Warriors prevailed, beating FC, 49-6.

Senior wide receiver Brandon McCormick enjoyed the experience but was disappointed in the team’s effort.

“The environment of being in LA playing football at such a nice high school was such a privilege,” McCormick said. “Even though we lost, I feel most of us had fun! I didn’t feel like they were that good and pretty passive but we made too many mistakes. Knowing assignments and techniques is what wins football games and there are still a few things we need to work on.”

Coach Mick Fuller was not available all week for a comment.

Sophomore lineman Matt Ely thinks that the team is having trouble working together and capitalizing on their strengths.

“We have a great team,” said Ely. “Really, we do. But we have so much talent and strengths. We all want to be the hero and do our own thing rather than working together. Once we learn to utilize each other’s strong points and put them together, we’ll go far. We just need to gel as a team and capitalize on being selfless.”

The Eagles will next travel to Woodland High School to take on the Buffaloes in a non league skirmish.
