Volleyball sport shorts: Kings Christian

SEASON END

The Eagles played against the Kings Christian Crusaders for the last game of the season, Nov. 8. In the first game, the Crusaders came out strong by using complex plays and strong serves and defeated the Eagles, 25-20.

Although they lost the first game, the Eagles refused to give up and responded to the Crusaders’ strong serves by blocking and digging every ball possible. Despite their effort, FC lost by two points, 25-23. In the last game, the Crusaders defeated the Eagles by two points once again by putting in experienced senior players.

Even though they were defeated in their last game, senior Bri Graff says that she is satisfied with the result of the game. She appreciates her teammates for trying their best on the court. Although she will not be returning next season, the time she spent practicing, playing and bonding with the girls on her team will not be forgotten anytime soon.

“Even though we lost, I am satisfied with the way we ended the season,” Graff said. “We tried so hard all season and our hard work has definitely paid off. I am so proud of my teammates for trying their hardest on the court and improving so much throughout the season. I am going to miss my teammates next year, but I will always remember the memories I made.”

According to sophomore Gaby Siqueiros, she enjoyed playing with her teammates during the season.

“It does not matter to me that we lost,” Siqueiros said. “I enjoyed this season so much. We got close to each other and I was able to go to the older girls for advice both on and off the court. I am so glad that I got to play with such amazing girls this season and I am looking forward to next season.”

The season stats were not made available by the Eagles’ coach. He also remains unavailable for comment.
