Family Feud between freshmen/senior siblings, the talent show, and true love in relationships are some of the activities for Love, Love, Love week. The week is organized by the student leadership and supervised by Eunie McEntee, Scott Falk and Christopher Schultz during Feb. 11-14.
“Love, Love, Love week has been going on since the early ?90s and stopped couple of years ago before we started continuing it again,” McEntee said. “The activities arranged were to do something special for Valentines.”
Love, Love, Love week began with Family Feud on Feb. 11. Family feud was senior/freshmen siblings playing against each other for tug-a-war and indoor soccer. Teacher/ student relatives were against each other for a rally of questions about the school.
Two students from each school in the West Sierra League joined together to compete for a cash prize in the talent show. Three teachers and two students were chosen by student leadership to judge the talents.
“Three teachers volunteered to be judges and as leadership we chose two students that were suitable for the job,” Schultz said. “Each judge was given an evaluation sheet to be used for each talent.”
Johnel Kazarian a youth director from Pilgrims Church came on Feb. 13 and spoke about relationships and how love affects couples for true love in relationships.
Finally on Valentine’s Day leadership conducted the Love Connection, which was a dating game for couples.
Student leadership planned and organized for a week and a half for Love, Love, Love Week. According to leadership, the goal for Love, Love, Love week is to keep the focus away from couples and to foster fun with groups of people.
“It took time to think of what we were going to do, time and commitment,” Lauren Taylor, students leadership, ’03, said. “I was working on organizing the chapel for true love in relationship.”
Feb 11-14 was dedicated to love and everyday something new about love was presented in chapel. For more information on Love, Love, Love week, students and teachers can contact Falk at 297-9464 ext. 121.
