UPDATE (2:09 p.m.) At 8:30 a.m., IT Director David Martens was able to put The Feather on the nightly backup system to return the website to a time before the hacker made changes. Through this process, the staff was able to recover the lost articles. At about 10:45 a.m., Martens tracked down the method the hacker used to access the data base and has now taken the steps to correct it.
UPDATE (10:30 a.m.): Around 6:30 a.m. The Feather was hacked by an unknown source, which deleted a few articles, including the Daily Announcements, Jan. 23.
The staff is trying to find the source of the problem as quickly as we can. We apologize for the inconvenience and are trying to return the site back to normal as soon as possible.
Until the problem is solved, the editors are unable to publish any new material, including articles, photos and videos.
